Details of Batman: Arkham Knight's Upcoming PC Patch Revealed

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is getting closer to its patch that will help to hopefully give us the game we should have had from the start. Warner Bros. has released some details of what we can expect in the PC patch, and it's a fairly extensive list of items. The argument can and should be made that if WB actually invested the time to give PC players an actual product instead of a shoddy port we wouldn't be in this mess, but we can only hope it serves as a lesson for its future PC releases. At any rate, here are the main aspects of what WB and developer Rocksteady are bringing to the PC version in the upcoming patch:

Reduced frame rate hitches
Optimized system memory and VRAM usage
Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
Min Spec AMD GPU is once again the Radeon HD 7870 2GB
More Robust In-Game Settings, including:

  • Added the ability to change settings for Max FPS to 30/60/90
  • Added toggles for Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, and Film Grain
  • Added a “High” Texture Resolution value
  • Added Texture Filtering option
  • Added an Adaptive V-Sync option (NVIDIA only)
  • Added VRAM Usage Meter
  • Added Mouse Sensitivity Slider & Mouse Smoothing Option

Fixed low resolution texture bugs
Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

It's a nice list of changes, especially all the in-game options for things like texture resolution, mouse smoothing, and the ability to display more than 30FPS. It isn't the full list of changes in the patch, just the highlights. WB calls this an "interim patch," which hopefully means we'll have more coming down the road to improve performance and bring the PC version even more in line with its console counterparts. There was no date given for when to expect this patch, so it'd be nice to have that information, and the patch, soon.

I fully expect it to be a very different game after this BS

I played a bit the other night and other than the 30FPS limit it was not bad for the short time I played it.

Ya its not bad in some areas of the game, but other areas it gets pretty bad.

Looking forward to the new launch
