With all the problems facing the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, this bit of news may or may not surprise you. Warner Bros. is suspending sales of Batman: Arkham Knight and has even removed its buy option from Steam. You can still go to the game's Steam page and read all the reviews that highlight what all is wrong with it. Warner Bros. issued the following statement, which you can also see on the Steam store page:

We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards. We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.

Thank you to those players who have already given valuable feedback. We are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support (http://support.wbgames.com/). If you purchased your copy of the game and are not satisfied with your experience, then we ask for your patience while these issues are resolved. If desired, you can request a refund at https://help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds) or the retail location where you purchased the game.

The Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played.

It is a rather bold move, but perhaps the only thing left to WB at this point. The game's rating on Steam is "Mostly Negative," while the previous Batman: Arkham games are all in the "Positive" and above section. I suppose it's a good thing Steam now offers refunds, since people can take advantage of it with Arkham Knight. Green Man Gaming recently amended its refund policy to better accomodate any angry PC gamers wanting to get their money back from this game.

From the 30FPS framerate cap to the missing textures (ones that do appear on console) and game stuttering, Batman: Arkham Knight is a prime example of a shoddy PC port. This is also why pre-ordering a game is truly a crapshoot, because you can never guarantee the performance will be flawless. Maybe the poor response to Batman: Arkham Knight and the suspended Steam sales will serve as a wakeup call for developers and publishers to actually give a damn about PC gaming.

Good for them... though it's more likely for legal reasons than to clean up their corporate image.

Nice to see some accountability. I'm not sure I would preorder another game from them to be honest.

Accountability! There is none. They have everyones money already and did a piss poor job of coding the game. They know the backlash would come sooner than later and most likely figured they could ride it out until the first set of patches came through. Its typical BS to try and get a game out the door. IMHO.
