CD Projekt Switches Focus to Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was first revealed by CD Projekt in May 2012, and since then the studio has remained rather quiet about the game. CEO Adam Kicinski said that the studio would continue to remain quiet on the game until 2017, but the company has now revealed that the initial reveal was a way to gauge interest in the game, which is vastly different from The Witcher series. Joint CEO Marcin Iwinski said "We were super excited about the project internally, but what if it wasn't the right thing [for us]? But the response has been incredible. Now it's just up to us to deliver. We're hard at work on it." He also described some of the internal motivations at CD Projekt stating, "People might want to leave and go work on something else. We're excited to switch to guns. We intended to keep [the team] energized with Cyberpunk. The core team is working The Witcher 3's expansions, but more and more people are moving over onto Cyberpunk."
