Raptr Gaming Platform and Community Hacked

Category: General News
Posted: 05:20AM

Raptr, one of the fastest growing online gaming platforms and communities in the world, has officially been hacked. The service itself is integrated into the AMD Gaming Evolved application, which is similar to NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience. According to the Raptr Founder and CEO, Dennis Fong, user names, email addresses, password hashes, and some first and last names may have been compromised due to the attack. Fortunately, Raptr makes use of a two-factor authentication system to redeem Raptr Reward Points, meaning that points earned as a Raptr member should be protected against unauthorized redemptions. Fong also states that all individuals who use Raptr should change their account passwords immediately, especially if the same password was utilized for other accounts on other websites or services.
