ASUS has officially announced its single-GPU flagship graphics card that is based on the GeForce GTX 980 chip, the Republic of Gamers Matrix Platinum. This latest graphics card from ASUS includes features that are common with other ROG video cards, such as a color-coded load indicator, a defroster circuit that prevents frost formation when under LN2 cooling, a sleek back-plate, and a ROG-themed GPU Tweak utility. The GTX 980 ROG Matrix Platinum also feature a signature ROG-themed air cooling solution, in which ASUS has incorporated a high-density fin-stack heatsink with 10-mm thick heat pipes along with an ASUS-designed CoolTech hybrid fan that is capable of pushing air both laterally, and axially. While the core clock speed is unknown at this time, ASUS did reveal that the GTX 980 ROG Matrix Platinum, which utilizes a strong 14-phase VRM, features a GPU Boost frequency of 1342MHz.

No pricing information for the GTX 980 ROG Matrix Platinum has been released by ASUS.
