Category: Mobile

Android 4.4 KitKat was released just over a year ago when the Nexus 5 made its debut. Since then, the mobile operating system from Google has continued to grow and cover more devices than ever. According to the latest update to the Android Developers Dashboard, KitKat now covers 30.2 percent of all Android devices, based on the number of devices that visited the Google Play store during a seven day period. Compared to September, KitKat saw a 5 percent growth during the month of October, but still lacks far behind Jelly Bean which currently has 50.9 percent of the market.

As Android Lollipop makes its way to the market, the total number of KitKat devices will likely fall in the coming months.
