TiVo, a company known for its digital video recorders that support streaming media services, has officially introduced the TiVo Mega. The Mega features the same hardware as the current top-of-the-line TiVo Roamio Pro, but comes packed with 24TB of storage, which is eight times larger than the 3TB that the Roamio Pro comes with. With the TiVo Mega, the company is boasting that users can store 26,000 hours of standard definition programming as well as 4,000 hours of high-definition video, with the included 24TB of hard disk space. The newly introduced unit will also feature the infamous guide recommendation service and search features by TiVo for the life of the product.

TiVo Mega is slated to ship in the first half of 2015, and is suggested to cost roughly $5,000, according to company officials. A prototype of the unit is expected to be shown this week at CEDIA in Denver, CO.

As neat as this is, anyone looking to store 24tb of video likely already has an expandable HTPC. HTPC's costing less than half will bury this thing. I just don't get why it COULD cost this much tbh.
