It's never easy going from 2D, 640x480 pixel art to full-blown 3D, but Phoenix Online Studios has seemingly done a pretty good job at it with Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition. Some fans of the original may be a little upset that all the voice acting was redone, but it's hard to deny that visually, this remake is stunning, especially with the highly detailed environments. Check out the Gamescom Trailer below:

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition is scheduled for a August/September release on PC and Mac, with an iPad version coming at a later date.

The new edition would have been less necessary if the original was 640x480, but it was 320x200, which is not really palatable these days.

That info was taken direct from the official site's FAQ: gabrielknight20th.com/frequently-asked-questions 2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence under the question "I have played Sins of the Fathers… how will the new version be different from what I remember?"
