VIZIO has issued a recall for its E-Series 39-inch and 42-inch televisions, citing issues with the stand assembly failing and causing the television to tip over unexpectedly. At this time, 51 reports have been filed with VIZIO in which televisions have tipped over, though no injuries were reported with these incidences. Affected models include the VIZIO E390-B0, E390i-B0, and E420i-B0, and television units can be further identified with individual serial numbers. All affected units were sold at various retail stores and internet retailers from December 2013 through June 2014 and were manufactured in China and Mexico. Consumers who own a recalled E-Series television from VIZIO are being advised to immediately detach the stand, place the television in a location that is deemed safe, and contact VIZIO for a replacement stand assembly.
VIZIO can be contacted about this recall toll-free at (855) 472-7450, and more information surrounding the recall can be found on the company website by clicking on "Safety Notice."
