Microsoft Looks to Unify Windows Across Platforms
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed in the fourth quarter earnings meeting this week that the company is hoping to combine Windows for PCs and tablets, Windows Phone, and Xbox One to "enable apps that span all types of devices and that are available in a single Microsoft store." More information is planned to be revealed in the coming months, though no set date was mentioned. Support for applications across all three OS versions could be a great advantage to both developers and consumers that have multiple Microsoft devices. Nadella added, "We will streamline the next version of Windows from three operating systems into one single converged operating system for screens of all sizes."
