Netflix Continues to Thrive Despite Higher Subscription Fees
Despite Netflix announcing back in May that it was raising its subscription costs for new customers in the United States by $1, the company continues to thrive. Netflix has just announced that its paid subscriber base has grown to just shy of 48 million users, which is up four percent from the first three months of 2014. In a letter to its subscribers, Netflix has made it known that while its subscription costs have risen, albeit modestly, its total subscriber base is now greater than 50 million users. The company's total quarterly revenue was up 25.3 percent during the second quarter as well, further promoting the idea that Netflix is doing quite well within its segment.
Along with its growth in both subscribers and revenue, Netflix has announced that in September it is launching its service in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
