Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut Coming to Steam July 15 with New Magic Mode
Back in October, when WayForward's Shantae: Half-Genie Hero was successfully funded on Kickstarter, many fans asked for Shantae: Risky's Revenge to be ported to PC and helped get the game greenlit on Steam Greenlight. Originally released in 2010 for the Nintendo DSi and ported to iOS in 2011, WayForward announced on Tuesday that Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut will launch on July 15 worldwide via Steam for Windows, priced at $9.99. While we don't know all the details on what the "Director's Cut" actually adds and improves, WayForward did mention one new addition: beating the game will unlock a new game mode called "Magic Mode" in which Shantae is wearing the "Dancer Costume" seen in the iOS port, providing less magic consumption, but also less defense. It's supposed to present an added challenge for experienced players.
The Steam store page for Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut has not gone live yet.
