Trine Enchanted Edition Coming to Steam as a Free Update
Trine will be celebrating its fifth anniversary next month, and soon you'll get to experience the brilliant side-scrolling puzzle platformer in an all new way, via the Trine Enchanted Edition. Trine Enchanted Edition is a port of the original Trine to the Trine 2 engine, which not only results in improved visuals, but also improved gameplay and additional features. One of those additional features is online multiplayer, which is great because local co-op with keyboard + gamepad was a complete mess when I tried it back in the day.
It's certainly out of the ordinary for a developer to update a five-year old game, especially one that already looked great. Still, if you've never played Trine, the launch of Trine Enchanted Edition is the perfect time to check it out. The Enchanted Edition will be a free update on Steam, but it won't affect the original game in any way – instead a game launcher will allow you to select which version you want to play. No word on an expected release date, but the beta test began today, so if you'd like to participate, check the site below for instructions.
