Although Nest Protect smoke alarms were recalled in May of this year and the company itself pulled the product from store shelves in April due to a defect found in the Nest Wave feature, the smoke alarm is now making its way back to consumers. Nest has just relaunched its feature filled smoke alarm, citing that it no longer contains the Nest Wave feature due to safety concerns. The company did mention that it intends to bring the feature back at some point, as it does see an advantage of the technology, but that it was unsure when it would be able to provide the best solution for the feature to customers.

Available now on websites such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Nest, customers can buy the relaunched version of the Nest Protect smoke alarm for $99, a reduction in price compared to its previous offering that sold for $129.
