Announced back in February, Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms has made its way to Steam Early Access today. It marks the return of the Heretic Kingdoms series after nearly ten years, and while it's a hack-and-slash action-RPG like its predecessor, it brings some unique features to the genre. The most notable differentiating factor is its unique party-based system where you control a demon called the Devourer, but also up to three other party members, all sharing the same body. There's also the ability to switch seamlessly between the human and shadow world, a dynamic day and night cycle, and world-affecting decisions.
Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is currently available on Steam Early Access at 10% off until June 20th, bringing the price down to $26.99 from $29.99. But, once the game leaves Steam Early Access, the price will increase to $39.99. As with any Steam Early Access game, please be sure to read the developer notes so you know what you're getting yourself into.
