Ubisoft's E3 Press Conferences Never DisappointCategory: Gaming

For the past two years, Ubisoft closed out its E3 Press Conferences with a bang, shocking everyone with the reveal of a brand new IP. So does Ubisoft make it three years in a row? Well, let's not get out of order here. Aisha Tyler returned as host, but before she took the stage, Ubisoft kicked things off with some Far Cry 4 gameplay, showing off the first five minutes of the game. It was a rather interesting introduction to the game and I'm curious to see where the main story goes. After the video, Aisha Tyler took the stage before introducing Just Dance 2015 and then Just Dance Now, a mobile version that allows playing anywhere. Quite a change of pace from Far Cry 4 to say the least.
Next came a CGI story trailer for Tom Clancy's The Division, the big new IP revealed at Ubisoft's E3 Press Conference last year. While it didn't show gameplay, it did seem to be an in-engine trailer. Next up was The Crew with a gameplay trailer sped up to show the vast array of environments gamers will encounter as they speed across the entirety of the United States. You can sign up for the PC beta, which begins July 23. Assassin's Creed: Unity followed, first with a great CGI trailer and then with some live gameplay. This time, instead of the four-player co-op, as shown during Microsoft's conference, this time we got to see some standard single-player gameplay.
Ubisoft then unveiled a new title in partnership with Microsoft, entitled Shape Up. Coming to Xbox One, it's an exercise game that has a slew of different types of exercise mini-games you can play, like a rhythm game-like stepping one or push-ups. While Shape Up is high energy, Ubisoft followed that up with something a bit more mundane and emotional - Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Created with the UbiArt Framework, Ubisoft showed off a story trailer featuring a sad, but lovable dog.
Then CEO Yves Guillemot took the stage to thank the fans and studios that presented games before the moment we had all be waiting for - a brand new reveal. Well, sort of brand new - pre-alpha footage of a multiplayer match was shown for Rainbow Six: Siege (presumably formally the long-in-development Rainbow Six: Patriots). While it was labeled as pre-alpha, it looks hella sweet and much more like the original Rainbow Six games than the current iterations, with a much more tactical and methodical feel.
