For those times when you need small storage drives, Kingston Digital has released its new M.2 2280 SATA SSD. At only 22 mm x 80 mm, this tiny drive is perfect for small and thin devices, like ultrabooks, embedded systems, and motherboards, like those based on Intel's recently released Z97 chipset. The drives include multiple features to ensure longevity including TRIM support, wear leveling, and advanced garbage collection, as well as firmware-based solutions to protect data integrity from sudden power loss. For improved power management and battery life, the drives also use SATA DevSleep.

The 120 GB version of these standalone drives is available now with the 240 GB and 480 GB versions coming later in Q3. All of them have a three-year warranty and a life expectancy of one million hours MTBF.
