Kingston Digital, the flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Corporation, has just announced the MobileLite Wireless G2, which is the second generation of the company's MobileLite Wireless. The device provides users with easy additional storage for their mobile devices by allowing them to wirelessly transfer files such as movies, music, and photos to a supported flash card or USB drive. Photos and videos can even be sent directly to various social media platforms without the need to connect the MobileLite Wireless G2 to a personal computer. Since the device contains a 4640 mAh battery, it serves as a backup power source to mobile phones and is generally able to charge most smartphones twice. According to Andrew Ewing, the flash memory business manager at Kingston, the device can sustain itself for 13 hours of continuous use. Additionally, the Kingston Digital MobileLite Wireless G2 supports a connection from a 3G wireless Internet dongle and contains a direct Ethernet connection port, allowing the device to serve as a portable router or a network attached storage drive.
The MobileLite Wireless G2 will be available later this month and will come with a two year warranty with free technical support.
