Futuremark has announced today that it will be adding a new DirectX 11 benchmark test aimed at "gaming laptops and mid-range PCs" to all versions of 3DMark for free. Entitled "Sky Diver", the benchmark features "a wingsuited woman skydiving into a mysterious, uncharted location [and] is brought to life with tessellation, particles and advanced post-processing effects." While the existing "Fire Strike" benchmark is like gaming on "ultra high settings," Futuremark says that "Sky Diver" will emulate an experience more closely related to a "DirectX 11 game played on normal settings," making it ideal for entry level to mid-range system benching.

The preview trailer above and screenshots below show a rather breathtaking scene, but they're only a snippet; the benchmark will be shown in full at Computex next week. A release date will also be unveiled at Computex, with the benchmark currently in the final stages of testing.
