Creating a Sim has steadily evolved over the previous three iterations of The Sims franchise, and Maxis is poised to push it even further in The Sims 4. The new Create a Sim is not only insanely powerful – or is it powerfully insane? – but also extremely intuitive. The Sims 4 ditches the menus and sliders, and instead allows users to push, pull, and shape different areas of the body directly on the Sim. The studio seems to have taken what it accomplished with the Spore Creature Creator, and ran with it. It's essentially like modifying a character model in a 3D modeling program.
Toward the end of the video, we get a glimpse at the new Build Tools, but a full trailer for that should come in the future. The Sims 4 will be coming exclusively to PC in Fall 2014, with pre-orders currently available for the standard Limited Edition ($59.99) and the Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99).
