ADATA has announced the XPG and Premier Pro series SDXC UHS-I Speed Class 3 (U3) memory cards. The most noticeable improvement in the cards will be seen in speed when compared to the UHS-I U1 with write speeds increased by 750% and 500%, respectively. This translates to read and write speeds of 95MB/s and 85MB/s for the XPG and 95MB/s and 60MB/s for the Premier Pro. The continued expansion in media resolution has also resulted in increases in file sizes, leading to an increased desire for higher speeds to cut down on transfer times. The new cards are targeted at the ultra-high definition market where 4K and 2K resolutions are the norm. The XPG will be available in 64GB capacity and the Premier Pro will be available in 64GB and 128GB capacities.
