Sprint Users Likely to See Data Throttling
Sprint users who use quite a bit of data may soon see that their connection speeds are being throttled. Users that rank in the top five percent in regards to data usage will likely receive slower connection speeds during peak hours, according to the legal and regulatory section found on the Sprint website. Sprint wants to provide a high-quality user experience across all hours of usage, and as data usage has continued to rise steeply over the years, congestion has been an issue with its unlimited data offerings. Reportedly, the amount of data a customer can use before being throttled varies month to month, but overall the limitation seems to be hovering right round 5GB.
For customers who do experience throttled data when connecting to congested towers, speeds will return to normal when demand on the tower subsides or when customers leave the congested area.
