Netflix Raises its Monthly Subscription Costs by $1
Netflix late last month announced its plans to raise its costs for subscribers, but at the time the company did not provide concrete details on just how much the increase would be. Today, Netflix revealed that it would be raising its subscription costs for new customers in the United States by $1 per month, and also increasing costs for new European users by €1 per month. As Netflix hinted within its last announcement, current subscribers will be grandfathered into the current pricing structure, which will be honored for 24 months. Netflix is raising its costs modestly because it wants to keep expanding as a service, offering more content on more devices. New streaming options are set to be debuted soon that will strive to hit old subscription costs, which will restrict quality and the total number of screens streaming video can be broadcasted on simultaneously.
