Sony Reveals VAIO Fit 11A Battery Program
It has been a few weeks since Sony first urged customers to stop using and charging their VAIO Fit 11A personal computers that were built in February of this year. The request occurred due to an overheating issue affecting the included battery pack, which could result in partial burns to the housing of the computer. Sony has now revealed information on its battery replacement program that it initially announced with its request to stop using the VAIO Fit 11A. Beginning immediately, Sony is accepting reservations for free repairs from affected customers. Although it is now accepting reservations for repairs, the battery packs will not actually be replaced until the middle of May, 2014, following cooperation between Sony and its third party supplier.
