Supergiant Games' Transistor Coming to PC and PS4 on May 20
California-based studio Supergiant Games burst onto the scene in 2011 with its highly successful and critically acclaimed action-RPG Bastion. For its next game, Transistor, Supergiant is sticking with the action-RPG genre, but adding in a splash of turn-based strategy. While it seems like an action-RPG on the surface, you can enter "Turn", which stops time and allows you to plan out your movement and attacks, with each action consuming a certain portion of an action bar. If that twist on the usual formula wasn't enough, there's another one – enemies respawn if you don't collect their souls, which may not be so easy during large-scale battles. The game also features a talking sword, the titular Transistor. There are three new screenshots, shown below, but unfortunately there's no new video, so you'll have to make due with last year's Reveal Trailer:
Transistor will be arriving on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4 via PSN on May 20 for $19.99 / €18.99 / £14.99.
