Bound by Flame's Second Combat Demo Shows a Lot of Variety
Last Friday, French indie developer Spiders (Of Orcs and Men, Mars: War Logs) released the first combat demo for its fantasy RPG Bound by Flame, showing off three separate battles. Spiders has released Combat Demo #2 today, featuring "100% pure gameplay" from the PS4 version of the game. This time around, the demo shows four separate battles: two-handed hammer + trap versus Impaler, dual-wielded daggers versus Swamp Beast, two-handed axe versus Undead General, and stealth + crossbow + two-handed axe versus undead.
Project Manager Walid Miled explained that "the combat system lets you instantly switch between three stances (Fighter, Ranger, and Pyromancer), allowing you to adapt to the enemy you're facing on the fly." The combat demo illustrates how players can tackle enemies in a variety of ways using melee, traps, stealth, and/or long-range attacks.
Bound by Flame will be launching May 9, 2014, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
