It's been over two months since we got our first and only glimpse of the open-world, action RPG Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which showed heavy influences from the Assassin's Creed and Batman Arkham games. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) released a Story Trailer that explains what happened to protagonist Talion and his motivation in the game:
Along with the video, WBIE and developer Monolith Productions announced that Shadow of Mordor will launch on October 7, 2014, for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; and you can see the boxart for each one below. In addition, The Dark Ranger pre-order bonus pack was revealed, which includes a Dark Ranger Character Skin and the "Test of Power" Challenge Mode, where you face Sauron's Captains for powerful Runes to give you a head start in the game, in addition to exclusive leaderboards for that mode. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is priced at $49.99 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and $59.99 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The official pre-order page does list Steam as a participating retailer, but the Steam store page doesn't seem to be up just yet.
