Spotify has redesigned the user interface of its desktop, web, and iOS applications, replacing the old grey theme with a new and sophisticated black theme. The new theme has been available to select users of the service since last Wednesday, but the redesign is now being pushed to all Spotify users. Along with the new color scheme, a new font known as Proxima Nova is being used that increases readability and brings a fresh new look to the service. Menus within Spotify have been revamped too, with the removal of “library” and “starred” categories. Overhauled icons provide clearer direction on how to perform various tasks within Spotify, such as adding albums to playlists.
It is worth noting that Spotify did not announce a redesign of its Android application.
