EA Server Compromised, Being Used for Phishing Attempt
Security firm Netcraft has reported that an EA Games server has been compromised and is currently being used in a phishing attempt targeting Apple IDs. Hackers have exploited an old version of WebCalendar released in 2008 that runs on an EA server accessed by two pages on the EA domain. Users that navigate to this site are prompted for their Apple ID and password and for more sensitive information including credit card numbers and full names after that. Users are then redirected to the actual Apple ID site to help make it appear that nothing malicious has taken place.
