Republic Wireless, which is a mobile virtual network operator that focuses on incredibly cheap plans which make use of a hybrid technology that incorporates CDMA technology and Wi-Fi, will offer the Motorola G to customers starting sometime in April. The Motorola G smartphone replaces the outdated Defy XT previously offered by Republic Wireless. Three different plans will be available to customers who purchase the phone, which are priced at $5, $10, and $25 per month. The $5 plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data through Wi-Fi only, while the $10 plan adds unlimited talk and text through cellular service. The top $25 plan provides unlimited talk, text, and data through cellular service.

The Motorola G will be priced at $149 for the 8GB model and $179 for the 16GB model. The smartphone will not be compatible on other carriers however, as it is specifically coded to work with the hybrid technology that Republic Wireless offers.
