Digital movies have become increasingly popular over the years, so it should be no surprise that the Walt Disney Company wants to capitalize on that trend. Disney recently announced Disney Movies Anywhere, which is a cloud service for people to buy and watch Disney, Pixar, and Marvel movies (and presumably Lucasfilm down the road). The movies are bought and stored online, with access provided on a multitude of devices. You can use the Disney Movies Anywhere website to browse and buy on your computer, or grab the app from the iTunes Store to get movies on your iPhone, iPod, iPad, or Apple TV. Disney Movies Anywhere uses the company's proprietary KeyChest instead of UltraViolet, which should allow for more providers in the future than just iTunes (something that Disney is exploring at the moment). More than 400 titles are available for purchase, so there's undoubtedly something for everyone, from Marvel's The Avengers to Toy Story 3, Frozen, or pretty much any other Disney-owned movie you can think of.

I think this digital movie service stuff is all going in the wrong direction, I shouldn't need 20 different apps to watch my movies.

I hate it when "anywhere" is defined as "Only legal residents of the United States, certain territories and protectorates".
