Team Group announced a partnership with the HKEPC Laboratory on February 23rd in an attempt to set the record for the Super Pi 1M benchmark. The two groups were able to successfully break the record that had stood for 17 months with a new time of 5.078 seconds. The end goal of the collaboration, dubbed "ProjectX", is "to enhance the overclocking and stability features of memory products." The record was achieved using an Intel i7-3770K CPU on an ASRock Z77 OC motherboard paired with the Xtreem Series DDR3-2000 CL8 2GBx2 memory set. An overclock on the CPU of 7.136GHz was made possible through the use of Liquid Nitrogen cooling and the memory was overclocked to DDR3-2719 CL-7-11-7-24 1T timings.
