Soon, smartphones may not be one of the only devices that are able to be charged wirelessly, as laptops may join the effort in the near future. In a recent announcement made by the Alliance for Wireless Power, a new version of its Rezence wireless charging technology has been released. The new version allows for 20 to 50 watts of electricity to be delivered wirelessly, which is enough to charge some laptops. The technology will be demonstrated in Barcelona next week, as the Mobile World Congress goes underway.
As far as manufactures wanting in on the technology, the Alliance for Wireless Power has revealed that Dell is the first computer maker to join the initiative.
