If you play PlanetSide 2 on PC, hopefully you're running a 64-bit operating system. After it was revealed that Titanfall would require a 64-bit operating system, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley tweeted that 32-bit gaming is dead, before stating that all of SOE's stuff will be 64-bit in the future and that PlanetSide 2 will be moved to 64-bit.
32 bit is dead in gaming - http://t.co/hwWPWR93GN— John Smedley (@j_smedley) February 5, 2014
good riddance. all our stuff is 64 bit from here on out.— John Smedley (@j_smedley) February 5, 2014
we will be moving Planetside 2 to 64 bit completely— John Smedley (@j_smedley) February 5, 2014
Smedley later tweeted that the most common PlanetSide 2 crash is "Out of Memory", so moving to 64-bit should help fix it since 64-bit applications can access more memory. According to another tweet, apparently there were 6% of users last month that were running a 32-bit operating system, so the impact on the user base will be minimal.
