Tumblr, a very popular Yahoo-owned blogging platform, has finally implemented Secure Sockets Layer security. SSL, as the name implies, allows for data to be sent from a Tumblr server to your device using encryption. Think of it as "extra protection against hackers and snoops."
If enabled, it decreases the chances of being eavesdropped. This feature is turned off by default (for the time being) and the company suggests that you enable it by going to your Dashboard under Account Settings. It'll take a moment of your time and you'll feel safer knowing that your account is less likely to get hijacked or hacked.
