Although the new version of the PlayStation Vita is already available in Japan, Sony is releasing its revised version, known as the PlayStation Vita Slim, to the United Kingdom. Some notable changes have been made, to include an LCD panel being used instead of the original PlayStation Vita’s OLED screen. The new console is 15 percent lighter and 20 percent slimmer than the previous model of the PlayStation Vita. Additionally, a total of 1GB of internal storage is now available, a new battery provides up to six hours of gameplay, and the proprietary Sony connection is replaced with a micro-USB charging port.
The new Sony PlayStation Vita Slim will be released in the United Kingdom on February 7, 2014, and is expected to sell for roughly $300. A United States release date has not been announced.
