In a recent deal, Toshiba Corporation has acquired all assets of OCZ Technology Group. OCZ was previously known for supplying businesses with PCIe, SAS, and SATA drives while simultaneously providing consumers with high-performance PCIe and SATA drives. Although OCZ is being acquired by Toshiba, the company will still continue its operations independently while focusing heavily on the SSD market, making use of the leading-edge NAND flash memory provided by Toshiba. Toshiba is directing OCZ to immediately begin operations under the new name of OCZ Storage Solutions, which will continue providing sales globally through its current sales channels.
The headquarters for OCZ Storage Solutions will remain in San Jose, California and will incorporate a United States design center in Irvine, California. The new Toshiba owned entity will also make use of design centers in Israel and the United Kingdom.
