Current SVP General Manager at Hewlett-Packard, Ron Coughlin, is announcing that the company will reenter the smartphone business with two difference devices that will feature voice calling, the Slate 6 and Slate 7 VoiceTab. Both devices are reportedly going to feature a quad core processor, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot that enables up to another 32GB of storage, and Android Jelly Bean. Additionally, both devices by HP will offer a 2-megapixel front facing camera, a 5-megapixel rear facing camera, and front facing stereo speakers. The HP Slate 6 will offer a 1280 x 720 resolution screen, while the Slate 7 will feature a 1280 x 800 resolution screen.
No pricing information has been announced, but HP has revealed that the two new devices will be initially launched in India to fulfill the demand for oversized phones.
