Alien: Isolation Has No Multiplayer
For those worried that the upcoming Alien: Isolation will feature co-op – or worse, have a multiplayer mode slapped on – fret not! Speaking to RPS, Al Hope (Creative Lead) and Jon McKellan (Lead UI Art & Design) confirmed that Isolation will be a single-player-only experience.
Hope mentioned that the team did consider including multiplayer, but ultimately decided to focus on single player. McKellan added that upping the amount of humans would make it feel as if players were no longer outnumbered. If you've been following the game, you know that it features just a single alien, so, as McKellan says, "if you had two or three humans facing up against one alien it's a completely different experience where you're working together to overcome it rather than just trying to survive." Because of the "dynamic alien", Hope feels there will be reason to replay the game and do things differently.
Alien: Isolation will be arriving on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in late 2014. You can see the first trailers and screenshots here.
