Major Xbox One Update Expected
With no release data specified, Xbox Chief Product Officer Marc Whitten has stated that the Xbox One console will be seeing a major update to fix many of the issues currently plaguing the console. One major issue that was noted by Whitten is how difficult it is to now find and use social features on the Xbox One compared to the Xbox 360. The next major update for the Xbox One is on track to fix this issue, as well as others such as the lack of television applications available. Whitten addressed that Microsoft will tackle the television application availability situation in coming updates. Overall, the Xbox team plans to address the entire Xbox Live experience, making it less cumbersome to find multimedia, converse with friends, and engage in console specific tasks such as party joining. Future updates to the console will come at a much quicker pace as well, compared with the speed that updates were released for the previous generation Xbox.
Game-streaming functionality is on the agenda for Microsoft, and while the next big update for the console will not showcase the feature, Whitten is hoping to have something ready to display at the next E3.
