Mobile Data Coming to UK Channel Tunnel Customers
United Kingdom customers that make use of the Channel Tunnel, an underwater tunnel that connects the countries of England and France, will soon be able to receive 2G and 3G access. Previously only French travelers were able to access networks while making use of the Channel Tunnel, since the tunnel was noted as French territory. United Kingdom providers EE and Vodafone have now announced however that 2G and 3G access will be available to customers making trips from March to France. EE and Vodafone announced that 4G services will be coming, but stated that the quicker service will arrive at a later date. No expected speeds from either provider were provided regarding the mobile data implementation.
