Over Three Million Xbox One Consoles Sold
Microsoft announced that the company was able to sell over three million Xbox One consoles in 13 countries before the end of last year. Yusuf Mehdi, the Vice President of Xbox marketing, revealed that the sales were set at a record pace for Xbox. In just the first 18 days after the Xbox One launched on November 22, 2013, two million units were sold. Additionally, one million Xbox One units were sold in the remaining 22 days of 2013. Although customers seem to be having trouble with their Xbox One consoles, ranging from disc drives that malfunction to updates that are unable to install, sales still seem to be going strong. Larry Hryb, the director of programming for Xbox Live, stated that Microsoft is committed to improving Xbox One throughout its lifespan.
Titles that will launch during this year for the Xbox One include, but are not limited to: Destiny, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Project Spark, Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Tom Clancy’s The Division, and Watch_Dogs.
