Snapchat Service Compromised
The short term photo chatting service Snapchat is the latest victim of security exploits, with the result being a list of usernames and phone numbers for 4.6 million users being published. The list was published by SnapchatDB with the intent to "raise the public awareness around the issue, and also put public pressure on Snapchat to get this exploit fixed." The last two digits of phone numbers were censored in the report to "minimize spam and abuse," but SnapchatDB may release the unedited numbers in the future to help increase the pressure on Snapchat to fix this exploit. Users of the service can go to this website to check if their username is one that has been compromised.
