Futuremark is the company behind the popular benchmarks 3DMark and PCMark, and it has announced a new partnership with Quanta Computer for its Benchmark Development Program. Quanta is a name you may not have heard of, but if you have ever used a laptop then there is a good chance that you have used one of its products. The company "manufacturers one out of every three laptops sold globally and is an ODM partner for every one of the top ten PC companies." Other companies already in the program include AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. The program is "an initiative for building partnerships with leading hardware and technology manufacturers with the purpose of creating industry standard benchmarks for performance measurement." Futuremark President Oliver Baltuch said, "I am delighted that future versions of 3DMark and PCMark will benefit from the insight, experience and vision of Quanta Computer's expert engineers."
