Battlefield 4, while a brilliant game, is also technically flawed. so much so that developer DICE is suspending all other projects until the issues get resolved with BF4. Unfortunately, things are going from bad to worse, as EA is being pursued by two different law firms regarding the performance of Battlefield 4. The first law firm is Holzer Holzer & Fistel, LLC, which is looking into a class action case based on statements made by EA executives between July 24 and December 4 of this year. The second is Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, which plans to go after pretty much the same statements, except whether or not EA violated the Securities Exchange Act. That second firm is also looking into various EA titles on the PlayStation 4 as well as the suspension of DICE's projects to work on BF4.
No lead plaintiff has been named in either case, and both are focused on EA stock holders rather than gamers. If one or both go to the courts, it'll be interesting to see what happens. We may even see a third law firm seek compensation for gamers using the very same reasons as these two possible investor lawsuits.
