The SSDNow E50 will be the latest SSD from Kingston and it is targeted at enterprise users. The drive is expected to have performance similar to the SSDNow E100, but at a lower cost. Example tasks where users would see improved performance include online transaction processing, virtualization, and data caching. DuraWrite technology uses a compression engine to help minimize the number of Flash writes to help extend the lifespan of the drive. RAISE helps to reduce uncorrectable errors, surpassing the performance of standard error correction coding. SSD Business Manager Ariel Perez described the motivation behind the drive saying, "We found that there was a demand within our customer base and partner community for an SSD that offers enterprise-strength reliability and superior features but with lower endurance capabilities and associated costs." The SSDNow E50 will be available in capacities of 100GB, 240GB, and 480GB and will be shown off at the upcoming VMWorld Expo.
