AMD may not have a wealth of super thin laptops it can boast about, but that may soon change. Samsung has announced its new ATIV Book 9 Lite that features a 13.3" screen and AMD internals. The exact processor isn't directly stated except to say it's a "Quad Core Processor" at 1.4GHz, but early reports indicate it's one of AMD's new Kabini APUs. That makes sense, considering the Book 9 Lite has Radeon graphics and it'd be more fitting to just use the ones included with the APU. Other specifications include 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB SSD, an HD webcam, one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, Micro HDMI, and up to five and a half hours of battery life. Its 13.3" screen is a 10-point touchscreen with a 1366x768 resolution, while Windows 8 runs the show. The ATIV Book 9 Lite is a mere 0.69" high, with a weight of 3.48 pounds.
Samsung plans to launch the ATIV Book 9 Lite on July 28 for $799.99.
