The latest release from Razer is a piece of software called Razer Surround. This technology will provide 7.1 virtual surround sound for any pair of stereo headphones. The software can be calibrated differently for different users through a series of listening tests, providing the optimal listening experience for each user. Razer is offering the software free of charge for the rest of this year with the price increasing to $19.99 on January 1, 2014. Users will be presented with the opportunity to donate to the Child's Play Charity at the start of their download, but it isn't necessary to access the software. CEO Min-Liang Tan said, “We’re a big believer of giving back to our fans and the gaming community, and making Razer Surround available free with a donation to Child’s Play in 2013 is a testament of our commitment to giving back to current and future gamers of the world.”
