Microsoft's E3 press conference bore some expected fruits today, namely the price of the Xbox One. It also mentioned a release month, but didn't specifiy an exact date. What we can tell you is that Microsoft has priced its Xbox One at $499 in the U.S., €499 in Europe, £429 in the U.K., and $599 in Australia. It's a fairly high price, and certainly near the upper end of the console spectrum in the last eight years. It doesn't match the launch price of Sony's PlayStation 3, thankfully, but you'll need to weigh it regardless. The Xbox One is set to launch this November, although there's no telling when in November.
Microsoft also revealed a premium Day One Edition of the Xbox One that gamers can pre-order now, which features a limited edition controller, a Day One achievement unlock, special packaging, a decal, and exclusive DLC for Ryse: Son of Rome (a sword and multiplayer map), Forza Motorsport 5 (four cars tuned to the top of their respective class), Dead Rising 3 (Frank West and Chuck Greene tribute packs), and Kinect Sports Rivals (unique sporting equipment).
