Neverwinter, the free-to-play MMO from Cryptic Studios and Perfect World, has been in Open Beta since April 30, but on June 20, it will see its official launch. The switch is essentially just cosmetic, as there will be no character wipe, but it is still quite the milestone. Craig Zinkievich, Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, explains that, "With [players'] help during our Beta Test periods and our accumulated experience from having launched five MMOs, we're confident we've worked out all the major kinks and can sustain the world of Neverwinter without the Beta safety net."
In addition, June 20 will see the release of the ancient Dwarven city Gauntlgrym, a massive PvE and PvP battleground set for Level 60 players (see the official trailer below). If that upcoming end-game content wasn't enough, not to mention the infinite supply of player-made Foundry quests, the first free content expansion module, entitled Fury of the Feywild, is due out this Summer. It "chronicles an attempt by Fomorian Giants to seize the Elven city of Sharandar." Lastly, a new public test shard will be coming where "select players" will be able to preview upcoming content and changes.
